Cathodus

Two fist-sized eyes stare unblinking from the sand covered deeps of the Sol'Kesh bay. At the sight of an incoming fish the cephalopod cathodus explodes into motion, rupturing from the sand covered pit with its single strong tentacle. With a snap that can nearly be heard at the water's surface it bisects its prey with a powerful beak and slithers back into the crevice to await another.
