Cerrophol

As the tide falls exposing mollusks and crustaceans trapped above water or within secluded tidal pools, out stalks the cerrophol. Though resembling an octopus, this semi-terrestrial squid makes good use of its two tentacles and has evolved the usual suction cup pads into hardened claws for dragging its body across stone and sand as well as cracking urchin and crab shell it spies with it's forward facing predator-adapted eyes. With enough salt water held in its mantle for dozens of minutes of air the creature can make use of the often restricted prey in this fluctuating environment and although this small beast is by far not the apex predator its adaptability allows it thrive nonetheless.
