Torlund

On the wet marshes bordering the great forest in Sol'Kesh the enormous gastropod timidly dips into the algae-thick surface. Its mouth chomping on moldering leaf and plant matter while its two long stalked eyes watch the misty environment for signs of predators. At the first sight of danger, the torlund makes for a hasty retreat. Long stilted legs with splayed shell hardened toes and a relatively light frame for its deer-like size allow it to traverse the thick waters and mossy knolls easily. Though lacking a bone structure akin to the mammalians of its similar ecological niche, strong woven columellar muscles support its bulk, while the vestigial shell resting on its back makes for a store of calcium and a mating display.
