Burberry Beetle

In the web of life that inhabits Sol'Kesh many creatures large and small survive and propagate entirely through symbiosis. The humble burberry beetle nimbly moves along the lower reaches off the woods, from bush to branch they hide and camouflage as a simple leaf until the waning days of fall. As the fruits of summer wither, the outer perimeter of its leaf-like thorax grow round and red egg sacks. Looking entirely like burberries, these little egg sacks are quickly nipped off by wintering birds as these look like the last of the years bounty. Nestled through winter in the digestive tracks, the larvae will emerge in the feces by spring, ready for a new year and cycle of life.
